Findings & Recommendations of the Orleans Revenue Committee

Over 50 people attended the Citizens Forum presentation by the Orleans Revenue Committee on March 1. The committee described their objectives and presented their findings and recommendations for alternative sources of revenue for the Town of Orleans. They began by asking:
“How much is the projected property tax rate expected to increase in the next four years?”
“Do you think user fees recover the full cost of services provided?”
“Do you think the Town is maximizing grant revenues to offset a portion of its capital projects?”
“Do you think the Town recovers the entire cost of operating its beaches and the Transfer Station?”
The panel for this forum consisted of:
- Marilyn Bruneau — Finance Committee Chairperson
- Paul Kelleher — Member of the Revenue Committee
- Alan McClennen — BOS Liaison to the Revenue Committee
