Nauset Beach — all along the outer Cape — is the central fundamental linchpin of our economy. The beaches attract the visitors, provide the backbone of our livelihood, and they are under siege by Mother Nature. This past winter a series of storms robbed us of 80′ of beachfront at Nauset Beach in Orleans, along with businesses, facilities and usable beach sand.
What is the future for our beaches? Will this massive scouring away of our beachfront continue? What will happen to the local economy if this continues? What can be done? What is being done? What does the future bring?
