Public Safety resources mentioned in the Chat with the Chiefs —
- PROJECT REASSURANCE — The Reassurance Program is available to any resident or visitor to the town, no matter how temporary the membership. The basis of this Reassurance Program is a daily check-in from the participants beginning at any time in the morning before 10 AM. If we do not hear from a member by 10 AM, the call taker will call them. If no response, a police cruiser will be dispatched to the residence. To sign-up for this program, fill in the following registration form and deliver it to the Orleans Police Department: http://www.town.orleans.ma.us/sites/orleansma/files/file/file/reassurance_sign_up_sheet.pdf
- CodeRED Telephone Emergency Notification — http://www.town.orleans.ma.us/police-department/pages/codered
- Comfort Care/Do Not Resuscitate Order Verification (CC/DNR) forms are statewide standardized forms issued by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, which patients and their health care providers can use to document the results of discussions they have had regarding appropriate life-sustaining treatment. These are the only documents that ambulance services and their EMTs and paramedics can immediately recognize and honor as an actionable order. The Comfort Care form can be downloaded at: http://www.mass.gov/eohhs/docs/dph/emergency-services/comfort-care-form.pdf
- File of Life — This is a red 3″x5″ folder with a magnet that holds the File to the refrigerator. This File of Life can be obtained at the Fire & Rescue headquarters.
