Meet the New Nauset Schools Superintendent
Wednesday, November 18, 2015
4:00 – 5:30 p.m.
Snow Library
Orleans, MA
On November 18th the Orleans Citizens Forum presented a forum introducing the new Nauset Public School Systems Superintendent, Tom Conrad.
Approximately 40 people were duly impressed by Mr. Conrad and his visions for the Nauset School System and for the children attending. Topics discussed were many, some of which were buses not filled to capacity, student choice, international students attending the schools and housing required for these students.
Discussion included expanding learning opportunities such as foreign languages being taught in the elementary school at earlier ages. Mr. Conrad also talked about iPads for all students which would remain school property.
The Superintendent was extremely enthusiastic about special classes offered to the students. For instance, they have a teacher who teaches students how to make a guitar. The construction of this instrument takes the entire year and the students taking this class thoroughly enjoy the experience.
This forum was held at the Snow Library and was a very intimate setting. Mr. Conrad was extremely approachable and many questions were asked and answered.
