PLANNED REVITALIZATION of ORLEANS VILLAGE CENTER
The Citizens Forum hosted a panel discussion on

3:00 to 4:30 p.m.
at the Orleans Senior Center
Over 150 citizens attended a very informative panel that discussed the proposals for revitalizing the Orleans Village Center. Bob Renn, Treasurer of the Citizens Forum, served as moderator for the forum. The speakers who discussed the project were:
— Todd Thayer — Developer/Realtor
— Alan McClennen — Selectman, Town of Orleans
— George Meservey — Dir. of Planning & Community Development, Orleans
— Steve Bornemeier — President, Orleans Community Partnership
— Elaine Baird — Orleans Improvement Association
During the May 2015 Special Town Meeting, the voters of Orleans approved $150,000 for the funding of a Town Center Plan. This article directly addressed a concern that revitalization of the Orleans Town Center was being pursued on an individual project-by-project basis and not as part of an integrated plan. With the approval of this article, the plan was to include feasibility analysis relating to the design of waste water facilities for the down town area. Panelists discussed the overall planning process and progress to date and answered questions from the audience.
